Secretary Recto Chairs PCSD Special Meeting |
| The Philippine Council for Sustainable Development held a Special Meeting last April 15, 2009 at the NEDA Board Room with Secretary Recto presiding as Chair.
The Special Meeting was convened to discuss Philippine participation to the 17th Session of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD17) to be held from 4-15 May 2009 at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA. The expected outcome of the CSD 17 is, among others, an agreed set of policy directions to advance the progress of implementation of Agenda 21 and World Summit on Sustainable Development commitments. This year's thematic areas are on agriculture, rural development, land, drought, desertification and Africa. Secretary Recto will head the Philippine delegation to the CSD17.

PCSD Launches 2008 outputs |
| The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Agriculture Staff ─ which is the coordinating secretariat of the Philippine Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) ─ recently launched the video documentation on Sustainable Development (SD) Localization Best Practices and the SD Mainstreaming Handbook Interactive Tutorial Software at the NEDA office. These outputs were developed under the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) 2008 Country Program Action Plan-Environment and Natural Resource-Capacity and Operation Enhancement (CPAP ENR CORE) Programme. click here for full details |

50th PCSD Meeting Approves the Enhanced Philippine Agenda 21 (EPA 21) |
| The Philippine Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) held its 50th meeting last 9 February 2009 at the NEDA Board Room. The meeting Chaired by Secretary Ralph Recto was attended by members from government, civil society, business and labor sectors. The agenda includes the Enhanced Philippine Agenda (EPA) 21; the Council’s Operations Manual and the Annual Work Plan; PCSD initiatives in 2008; preparations to the 17th Session of United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development; and the MDG-F 1656: Joint Programme on Strengthening the Philippines’ Institutional Capacity to Adapt to Climate Change. click here for full details... |
